Five Star Tours and Charter Company was founded on the need for a safe, reliable, and efficient means of transportation and tourist service in the greater San Diego area.  Since then, our vision has embraced our company philosophy. We are committed to your success! Our main goal is to ensure total quality service from the top down.

We are a local San Diego transportation and tour company, woman-owned and family operated with pride since 1972!

Our staff is fully dedicated to your success. We have taken every means to ensure safe and quality service. The majority of our staff is bilingual (Spanish/ English) and our drivers are trained to the utmost current laws. Five Star Tours participates in a Random Drug Pool Program. We are audited annually by the California Highway Patrol with an above standard rating.

​Our Commitment to Go Green

We have implemented the following initiatives to ensure our business practices are green:

  • Motor Coach Service - We educate our staff and drivers to consume less fuel by idling less. Our company policy is that no bus should idle for more than five minutes. We wash our buses with biodegradable detergents. We also use GPS mapping services to ensure less travel and thus use less fuel.
  • Energy Reduction - We strive for our operations to reduce energy consumption in all areas: from the office, to our warehouses and to our mechanic yard. We turn off electric appliances inside our offices, motor coaches and yard when not in use. We use energy efficient appliances and lighting inside our building. We also ensure our entire staff is trained on the importance of reducing energy and reducing our carbon footprint.
  • Recycling - We constantly reuse and recycle of parts (when deemed safe) and supplies within our organization.
  • Emissions Reduction - Coming soon!
  • Bio Fuel Program - We recently began using a combined fuel solution of bio diesel and regular diesel on our motor coaches. Although this initiative results in a greater expense, we stand by our Travel Green Bus Initiative to become a green motor coach leader.
